Nate Marquardt’s Suspension Lifted by Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission

Nate Marquardt‘s suspension by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission has been lifted.

Executive Director Greg Sirb notified MMAWeekly.com on Wednesday that the commission has received all the necessary paperwork and testing, and after a review, Marquardt is able to fight again.

“Suspension was lifted today,” Sirb wrote in an email to MMAWeekly.com.

This is at least one piece of the puzzle down for Marquardt, who was pulled last-minute from his bout at UFC on Versus 4 after testing showed elevated levels of testosterone in his system.

Marquardt had undergone medically prescribed treatments for low testosterone, but his levels spiked to a height that the commission could not allow him to fight, and he was subsequently pulled from his bout against Rick Story.

Because of the situation surrounding the late-notice removal from the card, UFC president Dana White promptly released Marquardt and banished him from returning to the promotion.

Marquardt will likely not have a problem finding a new job with several promotion already interested in his services. Now with the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission satisfied, it’s at least one less thing he has to worry about.

Sources have indicated that Marquardt could have a new deal in place with a promotion sometime in the coming weeks, but as of today nothing is set in stone.
