Asia’s biggest MMA promotion returns to China at the start of next month with former featherweight champion Narantungalag Jadambaa set to face off with Eric Kelly in the main event of ONE: ‘Dynasty of Champions’.
The show is set for the Hefei Olympic Sports Centre and will be the fifth ONE Championship event to take place in mainland China. The full fight card has not been released but the headlining bout pits two of the organization’s top featherweight together.
Jadambaa (11-4) captured the One Championship featherweight title in 2014 but was submitted by Marat Gafurov on the fourth round of a ‘Fight of the Year’ contender the following year. He bounced back to submit former lightweight champion with a Von Flue choke in May.
Kelly (12-2) featured on the inaugural ONE Championship card back in 2011 and has fought seven times for the promotion. He was initially scheduled for a title fight with Jadambaa in Manila two years ago but contract negotiations broke down.
Since then Kelly has claimed a decision win over Hiroshige Tanaka and been submitted by Ev Ting. Both him and Jadambaa are hoping to work their way back into title contention making this a must win fight for each man.
The card is also likely to feature the return of UFC and Bellator veteran Roger Huerta as well as a four man tournament for local Chinese fighters.
