A bantamweight bout between Alex Caceres (9-5) and Mitch Gagnon (10-2) has been scratched from Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 33 event in Brisbane, Australia. Gagnon had undisclosed visa issues that are keeping him out of the country.
The bout will be rescheduled for a future date, according to UFC officials, who announced the bout’s removal on Sunday.
UFC Fight Night 33 features a five-round headlining bout between heavyweights Mark Hunt and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva. It takes place on Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. Due to the time difference, it airs on Fox Sports 1 on Friday, Dec. 6, in the United States.
Caceres vs. Gagnon had been slated to be part of a six-fight main card. UFC officials, however, have yet to say whether or not a replacement fight will be moved onto the main card.
UFC Fight Night 33 marks the promotion’s first trip to Brisbane.
