Mike Bohn joins MMAjunkie.com's reporting team

mike-bohn.jpgMMAjunkie.com is proud to announce that Mike Bohn has joined our reporting team.

Bohn begins his new position on Aug. 1.

His contributions will appear online at MMAjunkie.com and usatoday.com, and he’ll also occasionally contribute to the print edition of USA TODAY. His work will focus primarily on event-related features and a slate of new video initiatives.

Bohn, a 22-year-old journalism and broadcasting student who’s based in Toronto, also will help with on-site event coverage in his native Canada.

“Mike is a young go-getter who carved out a nice niche for himself in our industry, and we’re excited about making him an addition to our team,” USA TODAY senior MMA editor/MMAjunkie.com editor-in-chief Dann Stupp said. “We believe his creativity and commitment to his craft will result in some great content for our readers, and he’ll complement our existing writers quite well.”

Bohn owned and operated FightCove.com, and he’s recently written for MMAMania.com. He’s also done freelance work for Dial Global and Sportsnet 960 The Fan.

“I’m honored to join a team of some of the most recognizable and successful journalists covering the sport at MMAjunkie.com,” Bohn said. “I have long admired the work done here, and I am hoping to bring a new and exciting dynamic to what is already a group of extremely talented individuals. I look forward to learning from all my coworkers and becoming the best journalist I can possibly be under the MMAjunkie.com/USA TODAY Sports banner in order to bring readers the highest quality content.”

Bohn can be followed on Twitter at @MikeBohnMMA.
