Thiago Bodão has fallen off of the UFC on FX 7 fight card slated for Jan. 19 in São Paulo, Brazil.
UFC officials on Saturday announced that Bodão suffered a knee injury that forced him out of his planned bout with Michael Kuiper. Taking his place is fellow Brazilian Caio Magalhaes.
Kuiper (12-1) is 1-1 during his UFC tenure, losing his promotional debut to Rafael Natal at UFC 143. He then rebounded in his sophomore trip to the Octagon, defeating Jared Hamman at UFC 150.
Magalhaes (5-1) is trying to follow Kuiper’s lead. He also lost his promotional debut, a decision loss to Buddy Roberts at UFC on FX 3. A BJJ black belt, Magalhaes will see if he can get the better of his Dutch foe with his home turf advantage.
Vitor Belfort and Michael Bisping headline the UFC on FX 7 fight card.
