Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight number one contender, Josh Thomson, will no longer throw hands opposite Michael Johnson at the upcoming UFC on FOX 12 event, scheduled for the SAP Center in San Jose, California, on July 26, 2014.
That's because "The Menace" has been injured, according to MMA Junkie, and forced to withdraw from the event.
To complicate matters, the promotion has roughly two weeks to find a replacement against a fighter who is widely considered one of the toughest outs in the entire 155-pound division. In fact, Thomson is ranked No. 3 in the world and is no stranger to holding titles.
We'll have to wait and see.
UFC on FOX 12, headlined by a welterweight bangfest between Robbie Lawler and Matt Brown, will also feature a light heavyweight contest pitting resurgent division contender Anthony Johnson against the veteran stylings of Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.
