Melvin Manhoef to Lock Horns with Brock Larson at One FC 8 ‘Kings and Champions’

Dutch knockout artist Melvin Manhoef will square off with UFC and WEC veteran Brock Larson at One FC 8 on April 5.

One Fighting Championship officials announced the matchup on Monday. Titled “Kings and Champions,” One FC 8 takes place at Singapore Indoor Stadium and features a lightweight title clash between Shinya Aoki and Kotetsu Boku. The event’s undercard bouts can be viewed for free at onefc.livesport.tv, while the main card will air via online pay-per-view for $9.99.

Manhoef, 36, has won three straight fights, most recently stopping Denis Kang with a vicious knee to the body 50 seconds into their Dream 18 encounter. The Mike’s Gym representative has finished 25 of his 27 victims by knockout and owns notable triumphs over Kazuo Misaki, Mark Hunt, Kazushi Sakuraba and Evangelista Santos.

Larson has toiled on the regional circuit since exiting the UFC following a loss to Brian Foster in November 2009. The 35-year-old Minnesota Martial Arts Academy product has also won his last three bouts, including a unanimous verdict against Eduardo Pamplona at RFA 6 in January.
