Melvin Manhoef - StrikeforceA left leg injury has forced dutch striker Melvin Manhoef out of his scheduled December bout with one of Europe’s premier fighters, Mamed Khalidov.

Sources close to MMAWeekly.com official content partner AsianMMA.com have confirmed that KSW is now searching for an opponent, just weeks out from their Dec. 1 showdown.

Manhoef has been a journeyman as of late, fighting for various promotions, with mediocre success.  Following a three-loss skid, Manhoef suffered a freak injury in his first One FC bout, and then rebounded with two wins with Road FC and One FC.

Khalidov made the news this year, scoffing at a less than lucrative offer, according to the fighter, from the UFC.  A winner of five fights in a row, Khalidov turned heads with a huge knockout of Jorge Santiago back with Sengoku two and a half years ago.  A rematch was set, which was deemed a fight of the year candidate by many, although Khalidov lost by decision.

News of Manhoef’s injury was first reported by Sherdog.com.
