Megan Anderson vs. Charmaine Tweet gets headline spot for Invicta FC 21 on Jan. 14

Invicta FC 21 is ready to kick off its 2016 season with a showdown in the featherweight division.

The promotion today announced a headline bout between Megan Anderson (7-2) and Charmaine Tweet (9-5) for the event, which takes place Jan. 14 at Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, Mo. In addition, undefeated boxer Heather Hardy (0-0) will made her professional MMA debut at flyweight after starting her boxing career with a record of 18-0. She will face an opponent to be named.

Anderson is riding a three-fight winning streak, with all three vitories coming by way of knockout. Most recently, she scored a first-round knockout of Peggy Morgan at Invicta FC 18. Five of her seven career victories have come by way of stoppage.

Tweet is riding her own three-fight winning streak dating back to a loss to featherweight champion Cristiane Justino at Invicta FC 11. After two wins at upstart regional promotion Prestige FC, Tweet returned to Invicta FC in May. At Invicta FC 17 with a spinning backfist knockout of Latoya Walker.

Hardy’s 18-fight career in the boxing ring has landed her two minor titles along with her 18 victories. Four of her victories in the ring have come by knockout.
