Bellator Fighting Championships’ sixth season will not begin on
March 2 as originally anticipated. Instead, the season will kick
off March 9 from The Venue at Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Ind.
Promotion officials announced the change on Friday, but the reason
for the switch was not disclosed. Previously thought to be Bellator
61, the March 9 show will now serve as Bellator 60 due to the March
2 event date being scrapped.
The main draw is now set for Bellator 60, as the promotion recently
announced that Joe Warren
will defend his featherweight title against Pat Curran on
MTV2 and EPIX. The main event will follow the broadcast of all four
Season 6 featherweight tournament quarterfinals.

UFC talent Sean
McCorkle has signed to compete on the evening’s undercard,
which streams live on Spike.com. “Big Sexy” is expected to fight
three-year pro Richard
White, though the status of White’s contract is currently
McCorkle, 35, has won three straight fights since exiting the UFC
after back-to-back Octagon losses. The heavyweight has made quick
work of his last three victims, stopping each of them in under two
minutes. Most recently, the Hoosier submitted Justin
Grizzard with a kimura on Oct. 15. McCorkle is slated to
compete again in just over one week, as he meets Mike Gordon
in the North American Allied Fight Series on Jan. 28.
