A featherweight fight is in the works for UFC on Versus 4 that will see Matt Grice return to the Octagon to face Ricardo Lamas in a bout on the Pittsburgh card in June.
The fight has been verbally agreed to by at least one of the fighters according to sources speaking to MMAWeekly.com on Wednesday.
Matt Grice (13-3) has tasted the UFC before, going 1-3 in the organization during his stint with the promotion. Now at 145lbs, Grice is on a 4 fight win streak and looking to make waives in the UFC’s new featherweight division.
Former WEC fighter Ricardo Lamas (9-2) will look to make some waves of his own when he drops down to 145lbs for his UFC debut.
The Illinois fighter was 4-2 overall with the WEC and picked up some impressive wins along the way including a unanimous decision victory over Bart Palaszewski in his debut with the promotion.
If the fight between Grice and Lamas becomes finalized, it will likely occupy a slot on the UFC on Versus 4 undercard. More bouts for the June 26 event will be announced in the coming weeks.
