Martin Kampmann and Carlos Condit will square off for a second time when the welterweight rivals lock horns at the sophomore UFC on Fox Sports 1 event.

FoxSports.com Friday reported the upcoming rematch, which takes place Aug. 28 at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. No other bouts have been announced for the event, which will follow the UFC’s Aug. 17 debut on Fox Sports 1.

The 170-pound standouts first crossed paths in 2009, when Kampmann issued the reigning World Extreme Cagefighting titlist a rude Octagon welcome by edging Condit in a split decision at Fight Night 18.

Condit responded to that setback by winning five straight fights, capping that stretch with a unanimous decision victory over Nick Diaz to become the UFC interim welterweight champion. “The Natural Born Killer” could not capture the undisputed title from returning champion Georges St. Pierre, however, as “Rush” outpointed Condit to retain his belt last November at UFC 154. Most recently, Condit suffered a second straight loss for the first time in nearly seven years when he dropped a unanimous decision to Johny Hendricks on March 16 at UFC 158.

Kampmann, meanwhile, has gone 5-4 since besting Condit, though two of his defeats came via contentious judges’ verdicts. The Dane last competed in November, with Hendricks snapping his three-fight winning streak by knocking Kampmann cold in just 46 seconds at UFC 154.
