Mark Hunt-‘Bigfoot’ Silva Heavyweight Main Event Official for UFC Fight Night 33
Heavyweights Mark Hunt
are set to headline
UFC Fight Night 33
in Brisbane, Australia.
UFC officials Monday confirmed the rumored matchup, which will take
place Dec. 7 at Brisbane Entertainment Centre in the Queensland
capital. No other bouts have been announced for the card.
Both big men will look to get back on track after suffering
stoppage losses at UFC 160.
Hunt, 39, had his Cinderella streak ended in May, when
ex-titleholder Junior dos
Santos crushed the “Super Samoan” with a third-round spinning
hook kick. The former kickboxer had reeled off four straight
victories, including knockouts of Stefan
Struve and Cheick
Kongo, which unexpectedly launched Hunt into the heavyweight
Silva came up short in his bid for UFC gold, succumbing to punches
Velasquez for the second time in as many meetings between the
two. The 33-year-old Brazilian began 2013 in dramatic fashion by
