Two-time winner of the ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship and a No Gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Champion Jeff Monson (49-13-1 MMA, 1-2 UFC) will battle Russian MMA fighter Magomed Malikov (6-2 MMA) at M-1 Challenge 40 on June 7 in the Republic of Ingushetia, Russia.
Meanwhile Malikov became known after his shocking KO victory over former Pride fighter Aleksander Emelianenko at M-1 Challenge 28 in Astrakhan, Russia. Note that Monson also fought Aleksander Emelianenko and won by submission (north-south choke) at M-1 Challenge 35. Then in his next and last fight Malikov fought and lost by TKO in round three to M-1 Champion Kenny Garner at M-1 Challenge 32 on May 16 last year in Moscow, Russia. Also Malikov lost by submission (armbar) to a well-known mixed martial artist in Eastern-Europe, Baga Agaev at UAMA - Warrior's Honor 5 and won, by TKO, former Bellator MMA fighter Alexey Oleinik at Fight Star - Anapa.
