M-1 Challenge 40 Jeff Monson vs Magomed Malikov added

UFC veteran Monson holds a five-fight win streak. In his last fight, the American TKO’d in round two Dražen Forgac at Strength & Honor Championship 7 and defended his SHC Heavyweight title on March 9 in Geneva, Switzerland. “The Snowman” has fought fighters such as Fedor Emelianenko, Daniel Cormier, Sergei Kharitonov, Pedro Rizzo, Roy Nelson, Kazuyuki Fujita, Mark Kerr and Josh Barnett to name a few.

Meanwhile Malikov became known after his shocking KO victory over former Pride fighter Aleksander Emelianenko at M-1 Challenge 28 in Astrakhan, Russia. Note that Monson also fought Aleksander Emelianenko and won by submission (north-south choke) at M-1 Challenge 35. Then in his next and last fight Malikov fought and lost by TKO in round three to M-1 Champion Kenny Garner at M-1 Challenge 32 on May 16 last year in Moscow, Russia. Also Malikov lost by submission (armbar) to a well-known mixed martial artist in Eastern-Europe, Baga Agaev at UAMA - Warrior's Honor 5 and won, by TKO, former Bellator MMA fighter Alexey Oleinik at Fight Star - Anapa.
