MMAjunkie to continue live streams of Cage Warriors events in 2014

graham-boylan-fightersCage Warriors Fighting Championship can today confirm that it has renewed its hugely successful streaming partnership with MMAjunkie for a third consecutive year.

The deal, which was first signed early in 2012, will see all CWFC main cards this year streamed live and free of charge to viewers in the U.S. and Canada on MMAjunkie, the MMA arm of American national daily newspaper USA TODAY.

One of the top news sources in the sport of MMA since its establishment in 2006, MMAjunkie has covered Cage Warriors Fighting Championship comprehensively in recent years, with regular news updates, features and interviews.

“We’re very pleased to be extending the partnership with Cage Warriors Fighting Championship in 2014,” said Dann Stupp, USA TODAY’s senior MMA editor and MMAjunkie editor-in-chief.

“Junkie Nation now eagerly anticipates each Cage Warriors show, and as the organization circles the globe, they continue to develop world-class talent for our audience to watch and be entertained by. Cage Warriors shows have become some of the best entertainment in the sport.”

MMAjunkie will stream its 27th Cage Warriors Fighting Championship event this weekend since the partnership began, when the promotion opens its 2014 schedule at The Forum in Kentish Town, London, England, with CWFC 64 – headlined by the meeting of bantamweight contenders James Pennington and Cory Tait.

Remarking on the renewal of terms with MMAjunkie, Cage Warriors CEO Graham Boylan said: “This has been a very mutually beneficial relationship over the past couple of years so I’m glad we were able to come to an agreement to keep it going into 2014.

“Interest in Cage Warriors has risen enormously in North America in recent years, and our relationship with MMAjunkie has played a very significant role in that. I look forward to both parties continuing to move towards bigger and better again over the next year.”

Cage Warriors Fighting Championship has brought live events to MMAjunkie‘s worldwide audience free of charge from 10 different countries since 2012. The popular Monday event replays on the website will also continue for 2014.

CWFC live streams experienced a sharp rise in overall viewing figures in 2013, with a 41 percent per-event increase on the figures for 2012, proving that the promotion continues to develop as one of the leading organisations in world MMA.

Fans in the U.S. and Canada can also still view CWFC events live on Fight Now TV and The Fight Network respectively, while the free live streams will be available on IrishMMA.tv for viewers in Ireland and on CageWarriors.tv for the rest of the world (excluding the U.K.).
