Louis Gaudinot won't challenge UFC drug test suspension, but denies any 'wrongdoing'

Gaudinot was suspended for six months after testing positive for the diuretic hydrochlorothiazide.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) flyweight Louis Gaudinot failed his post-fight drug test following the "Gustafsson vs. Manuwa" Fight Pass mixed martial arts (MMA) event, which took place back on March 8, 2014, inside the O2 Arena in London, England.

Get all the details here.

The promotion suspended "Goodnight" for six months and overturned his win over Phil Harris to a no contest; however, the No. 12-ranked flyweight insists he did nothing different for his overseas fight that he hasn't already done stateside, which has never returned a positive drug test result.

From his official release:

"I have great respect for the UFC the sport of MMA, and my opponent. I would never do anything to disrespect any of them. I would also never do anything to tarnish my name, my teammates, and family. While I deny any wrongdoing, I will respect the decision of the UFC and look forward to getting back in the cage in pursuit of the UFC flyweight championship. I thank my family, teammates and fans for their support."

While a "surprised" Gaudinot denied any intentional violation, he did not deny taking a diuretic.

In any event, he'll be eligible to compete again in September, as the suspension is retroactive to his last fight. Gaudinot (6-3) now stands at just 1-2 (1 NC) following his stint on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 14 and likely needs an impressive performance his next time out to stay in the promotion's good graces.

See you after Labor Day.
