Volkmann has been greenlit for UFC Live
5, the promotion announced Wednesday.
The event takes place Aug. 14 at Bradley Center in Milwaukee and is
also set to feature a lightweight contest between former WEC
Henderson and surging AMA Fight Club representative Jim Miller.
Additionally, a 205-pound tilt pitting Stephan
Bonnar against Karlos
Vemola will likely appear on the Versus-broadcast main

Faber’s Team Alpha Male, Castillo (Pictured) is known for his
explosive wrestling in the cage. The 31-year-old debuted with WEC
in 2008, falling to Donald
Cerrone by armbar at WEC 34. After rebounding with three
straight victories, “Last Call” suffered back-to-back defeats for
the first time in his career, dropping bouts to Shane
Roller and Anthony
Castillo has looked sharp as of late, however, as the Californian
rides a three-fight win streak into his showdown with Volkmann.
Most recently, Castillo made a successful UFC debut in March,
notching a unanimous decision over Joe Stevenson
at UFC Live 3.
Also known for his wrestling, former Minnesota Golden Gopher
Volkmann began his career a perfect 9-0 before dropping his 2009
UFC debut to Paulo
Thiago. The 30-year-old would fall in his sophomore Octagon
effort as well, succumbing to a Martin
Kampmann guillotine choke. Fighting out of the famous Minnesota
Martial Arts Academy, Volkmann has won his last two contests,
racking up victories over Ronys
Torres and Antonio
McKee to bring his UFC record to an even 2-2.
