Sage Northcutt had a Texas-sized night at Legacy FC 44 in Houston on Friday, and his next stop is the UFC.
Northcutt (5-0) submitted Rocky Long (21-34-1) in the second round, sending the 56-fight veteran into retirement. But the bigger news for 19-year-old Northcutt was that the win secured him a UFC contract. He’ll return to Houston on Oct. 3 for his debut at UFC 192.
In the main event, Alex Morono (11-3) stopped Valdir Araujo (14-6) with a second-round knockout. Plus, Carrington Banks (4-0) outwrestled Justin Reiswerg (9-5) for a sweep of the judges’ scorecards.
Legacy FC 44 took place at Arena Theater in Houston. The main card aired on AXS TV.
