Holly Holm‘s recent effort to get into the UFC may not have gone as well as planned, but her most recent fight did.
Holm headlined Legacy FC 30 on Friday night in Albuquerque, N.M., fighting Juliana Werner for the inaugural Legacy women’s bantamweight championship.
The main event was all in favor of Holm. She picked Werner apart throughout the fight, dropping her with a head kick early in the fifth round. Holm followed Werner to the mat and finished her off with a relentless barrage of punches.
Holm may not be headed immediately headed to the UFC, but even if that opportunity doesn’t materialize, there has been talk about Holm possibly facing current Invicta FC featherweight champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino in a special pay-per-view event. The bout with Cyborg is something Holm seems to be warming to.
“I think very highly of Cyborg,” Holm said after defeating Werner. “Look at how long she’s been at the top, and she never walks around with her nose in the air. It would be an honor to share the cage with her.”
