Legacy FC 15 Update: With Title Fight Scratched, Robert Drysdale Steps Into Headlining Spot

Noel Ligon has suffered an injury in training and will be unable to fight William Bush for the vacant Legacy Fighting Championship middleweight title on Nov. 16, the Texas-based promotion announced Monday.

Legacy FC 15 will now be topped by a light heavyweight collision pitting jiu-jitsu ace Robert Drysdale against Chris Reed. Bush will remain on the bill, taking on Jon Kirk as part of the main card broadcast on AXS TV. The show takes place at Houston’s Arena Theatre and will also see unbeaten Carlos Diego Ferreira face three-time Legacy vet Ray Blodget in a lightweight co-headliner.

Drysdale has submitted all four of his MMA opponents in the first round, with only one adversary lasting longer than two minutes. A former jiu-jitsu and ADCC world champion, Drysdale made his Legacy debut on July 13, finishing Isaac Villanueva with an armbar in 89 seconds.

Reed has been bested just once in five pro outings, tapping to a heel hook in January 2009. Following that setback, the Texan spent more than three years on the shelf before returning to action under the International Xtreme Fight Association banner this past July, stopping Jeremy McCombs with punches in 70 seconds.
