Lauren Taylor Steps In for Injured Amanda Nunes at Invicta FC 5

Lauren TaylorInvicta Fighting Championships officials on Tuesday announced that Lauren Taylor will replace Amanda Nunes against Kaitlin Young at Invicta FC 5 on April 5 in Kansas City.

Nunes was forced to withdraw from the bout due to a sprained elbow sustained in training camp.

Taylor, fighting out of Anchorage, Alaska, enters the fight with a spotless 5-0 record. She has been unstoppable, defeating all five of her opponents by TKO.

Following her last victory, a first-round stoppage of Jennifer Scott at Legacy FC 18, the 29-year-old told MMAWeekly.com, “The 135-pound division is full of really talented females. I’d like to make a name for myself and I think even with the toughest women out there, I can put on a good show and hang with them.”

Young definitely fits the mold as one of the more talented females in the 135-pound division. She is 7-7-1, but her .500-record reflects the caliber of opposition she has faced throughout her six-year career. Young has faced the likes of Liz Carmouche, Julie Kedzie, and Leslie Smith.

She is looking to rebound from a second-round TKO loss to Leslie Smith last October at Invicta FC 3.
