Kenny Florian wanted a tough fight against a top guy, and that’s just what he got out of Diego Nunes at UFC 131 on Saturday night in Vancouver. He also got one of the toughest mental tests of his career, cutting weight to make the 145-pound featherweight limit for the first time since he debuted in the UFC as a middleweight.
“I think honestly this whole weight cut and going down, it was a true test in discipline, and I think it took me to the next level as far as mentally and what I’m capable of doing.”
Florian will need his game to be at the next level for his next fight, as it looks like UFC featherweight champ Jose Aldo could be coming up on the docket after Saturday night’s performance.
