Joseph Benavidez had a tremendous fight with Henry Cejudo at The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale on Saturday in Las Vegas. After three hard fought rounds, he walked away with a split-decision victory over his fellow Ultimate Fighter coach, leaving him as the clear No. 1 contender in the UFC flyweight division.
So what now?
While Benavidez sees the potential for a longstanding rivalry and many bouts with Cejudo in his future, it’s not the fight that he wants next.
As the longstanding No. 1 flyweight contender, he wants another shot at the belt. Despite having lost twice to Demetrious Johnson, Benavidez still wants to run it back, and made his case for a third fight with the champ.
