UFC on Fox 3 will get some international flavor as a welterweight bout has been added pitting John Hathaway against Pascal Krauss.

UFC officials announced the new bout on Monday.

British fighter John Hathaway will make his long awaited return to action after more than a year away from the sport when he comes back in May.

A top prospect at 170lbs, Hathaway has been dealing with injuries that prevented him from fighting after his last bout in the UFC, a decision win over former ‘Ultimate Fighter’ finalist Kris McCray.

If ring rust is a worry for Hathaway, then he’s on even ground with his opponent, who has actually been out even longer.

Undefeated German fighter Pascal Krauss has had the misfortune of running into more injuries than fights thus far in his UFC career. Krauss debuted at UFC 122 in Nov 2010 and picked up a victory over Marc Scanlon, but various ailments have kept him from a second bout in the Octagon ever since.

Hopefully the doctor’s office isn’t in Krauss’ future for this fight, and he’ll face Hathaway at UFC on Fox 3 in May at the IZOD Center in New Jersey.
