A heavyweight bout between Jared Rosholt (9-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and Russian newcomer Oleksiy Oliynyk (2-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) has been pulled from UFC on FOX 10's lineup.
UFC officials today announced Oliynyk suffered an undisclosed injury, and a replacement won’t be sought.
UFC on FOX 10 takes place Jan. 25 at United Center in Chicago. The main card airs on FOX following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
Rosholt vs. Oliynyk was slated for the FOX Sports 1 prelims. The event will continue with 11 bouts, though it’s not clear which online prelim will be promoted to the Rosholt-Oliynyk’s televised spot.
Rosholt made his promotional debut at The Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale and earned a hard-fought unanimous-decision win over fellow debutant Walter Harris. Oliynyk, meanwhile, signed with the UFC following a submission victory over former UFC heavyweight and PRIDE legend Mirko Filipovic in November.
The latest UFC on FOX 10 card now includes:
MAIN CARD (FOX, 8 p.m. ET)
PRELIMINARY CARD (FOX Sports 1, 5 p.m. ET)
