jason-high-4.jpgA welterweight bout between James Head (9-3 MMA, 2-2 UFC) and replacement Jason High (16-4 MMA, 0-2 UFC) is the 13th and final addition to next month’s UFC Fight Night 27 event.

UFC Fight Night 27 (formerly UFC on FOX Sports 1 2) takes place Aug. 28 at Indianapolis’ Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Most of the card airs on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on Facebook.

The Head vs. High matchup, which FoxSports.com first reported, replaces Head vs. Bobby Voelker (24-9 MMA, 0-1 UFC). The latter was recently pulled from the card to replace Siyar Bahadurzada against Robbie Lawler next week on UFC on FOX 8's main card.

Head vs. High will be part of UFC Fight Night 27's prelims.

Head, a former middleweight, won his first two bouts (a submission victory over Papy Abedi and a split-decision win over Brian Ebersole) after a drop down to welterweight. However, most recently, he suffered a TKO loss to rising contender Mike Pyle at The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale back in December. Head was slated to fight at UFC 159 in April, but on the day of the event, opponent Nick Catone wasn’t medically cleared to compete, and the bout was scrapped.

After a single UFC fight in 2010 in which he suffered a loss to Charlie Brenneman, High received his UFC walking papers. However, he won seven consecutive fights, including three with Strikeforce (over Quinn Mulhern, Todd Moore and Nate Moore), to earn his way back to the promotion. However, at UFC on FUEL TV 10 earlier this year, he suffered a submission loss to Erick Silva.
