Jake Collier-Josh Stansbury, Elvis Mutapcic-Anthony Smith booked for TUF 24 Finale in December

The TUF 24 Finale in December continues to build with the addition of a pair of middleweight fights to the lineup.

Jake Collier (10-3 MMA, 2-2 UFC) is set to meet Josh Stansbury (8-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) on the card, and Elvis Mutapcic (15-4-1 MMA, 0-1-1 UFC) will take on Anthony Smith (25-12 MMA, 1-2 UFC). UFC officials recently announced the two bookings.

The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale takes place Dec. 3 at The Pearl at The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. The event airs on FS1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass, though the bout order hasn’t been finalized.

Collier has been up and down in his UFC career, but once again will try to put together his first winning streak since before he signed with the promotion. The Missouri native picked up his first UFC stoppage win in May at UFC Fight Night 88 in Las Vegas when he took out Alberto Uda with a bonus-winning TKO from a knee and spinning back kick. That got him back in the win column after a TKO loss to Dongi Yang this past November in South Korea.

Stansbury made his UFC debut in July at the TUF 23 Finale in Las Vegas and picked up a majority decision win over Cory Hendricks. That victory ran his winning streak to eight fights. The Ohio native is a perfect 8-0 since starting his pro career with two losses – and in his eight-win stretch, he has avenged both losses, including a first-round submission of Dan Spohn at Bellator 71.

Mutapcic, a former MFC champ whose resume includes wins over UFC standouts Sam Alvey and Cezar Ferreira, made his highly anticipated UFC debut in January at UFC Fight Night 81 in Boston. But there, he dropped a unanimous decision to Francimar Barroso to halt a run that saw him win seven of eight fights. His follow-up, at UFC 199 in June, resulted in a disappointing split draw with Kevin Casey.

Texas’ Smith, a Bellator and Strikeforce veteran, will be looking for a rebound in his second stint in the UFC. After a submission loss to Antonio Braga Neto in 2013 in his first UFC fight and a follow-up loss to UFC vet Josh Neer at Victory FC 41, “Lionheart” went on a seven-fight winning streak with six stoppages. Included in that mix was a pair of Bellator wins, plus the avengeance of his loss to Neer with a first-round TKO win at Victory FC 47 to win that promotion’s middleweight title in January. That got him the return call from the UFC, and he came through with a decision win over Leonardo Augusto Guimaraes at UFC Fight Night 83 in Pittsburgh in February. But in July, he dropped a decision to Cezar Ferreira at the TUF 23 Finale for his first loss in more than two and a half years.

The latest TUF 24 Finale card now includes:

  • Champ Demetrious Johnson vs. TBA – for flyweight title
  • Joseph Benavidez vs. Henry Cejudo
  • Ryan Hall vs. Gray Maynard
  • Jake Ellenberger vs. Jorge Masvidal
  • Kailin Curran vs. Jamie Moyle
  • Jake Collier vs. Josh Stansbury
  • Elvis Mutapcic vs. Anthony Smith
