If Brazilian fans attacked Conor McGregor at Q&A? 'I would've put them to sleep'

RIO DE JANEIRO – Conor McGregor poked, prodded and goaded Brazilian fans at an already-legendary Q&A session on Friday. And despite some clear hostility and death chants, he said he was never scared.

McGregor, who hosted the Q&A prior to UFC 179 fighter weigh-ins (watch the highlights below), riled up the masses and continually taunted them with insults and bold predictions about how he’ll eventually take the featherweight title from Brazilian Jose Aldo.

However, did McGregor, who was ultimately joined on stage by a security official, ever feel in danger?

“If someone would have come down there, I would have put them to sleep,” McGregor said in a media scrum after the Q&A. “No doubt.”

McGregor ultimately admitted the session was a lot of fun, and he’s clearly gaining an appreciation for the country and its fans.

“I love it here,” said McGregor while noticeably tightening his fists and smiling. “I love the place. I love passion. That’s one thing: When you speak to someone who’s passionate about that they are involved in, that’s a beautiful thing. And that’s what I saw out there. They wanted my head on a plate, and they wanted blood. And I wanted their head on a plate also. So it was phenomenal. That why I want to come here and fight.”
