Bellator Fighting Championships on Wednesday announced that its former 170-pound champion, Lyman Good, would take part in the promotion’s Season 4 welterweight tournament.

Good (10-1) made his way to the title by winning three fights in the first Bellator welterweight tournament during the promotion’s inaugural season. Belt around his waist, Good’s professional record then stood at a spotless 10-0.

Ben Askren, a 2008 Olympic freestyle wrestler for the United States that entered mixed martial arts in 2009, burned his way up the charts. He buzz-sawed his way through his first six opponents, winning Bellator’s Season 2 welterweight tournament, earning a shot at Good.

Askren took the title from Good during Season 3, upping his record to 7-0, while handing the former champion his first loss.

Good enters the Season 4 tournament fixated on Askren and getting his title back.

“Being able to fight Askren again was one of the biggest factors behind me entering this tournament. I can’t walk away from an opportunity to avenge a loss to a person that I know deep down – with the proper amount of preparation – I can beat,” he said.

“But right now there are three bodies I’m going to have to get through before I focus on somebody that’s walking around with something that belongs to me.”

Good is the fifth confirmed participant in Bellator’s upcoming Season 4 eight-man 170-pound tournament along with Dan Hornbuckle, Rick Hawn, Brent Weedman, and Chris Lozano.

Undefeated welterweight Ben Askren is not convinced that soccer is a sport that parents should consider for their sons. Ben Askren is clearly not a fan of soccer. The former Bellator welterweight champion had some harsh criticism about the World Cup and the athletes that participate in it. He was particularly appalled with the amount of "faking" taking place in matches, deeming it unmanly. "I’m not really a soccer fan. I understand they have skill and all that running up and down the pitch and w more

I blame the wild hogs. Former Bellator welterweight champion and current ONE FC headliner, Ben Askren, was in town over Fourth of July Weekend and made a stop by The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 19 Finale, which took place on July 6, 2014, inside Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada (results here). And that's about as close to the Octagon as "Funky" can get. That's because the "bald man" was uninterested in signing the talented mat rat, which is unfortunate, considering Askren -- a 2008 Oly more

Ben Askren is one of the finest mixed martial artists on the planet, and his skills are so far only matched by his caustic tongue. Like Obi Wan said, "Now that's a name I've not heard in a long time..." Mixed martial arts (MMA) fans haven't seen former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight Roger Huerta for over two years.
