And the winner could be fast-tracked to a spot among the 170-pound contenders.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has booked a welterweight main event pitting Gunnar Nelson against Rick Story for its upcoming UFC Fight Night 53 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on Fight Pass, which takes place on Oct. 4, 2014 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden.

UFC announced the contest earlier today.

"I am honored to fight in Sweden and to headline this card," Nelson said in today's release. "I expect the Swedish crowd to be pretty loud. I believe I have a big fan base in Sweden. They love my kind of style of fighting and I am of course Scandinavian so we have a good connection."

"Gunni" (13-0) is fresh off a submission win over Zak Cummings last month in Ireland.

"I have fought in Germany before but it will be my first time in Stockholm, so I am looking forward to seeing the city," said Story. "My schedule now will be to pack up and head down to Arizona to the MMA Lab to start training. I'm really excited for this fight."

"The Horror" (17-8) also scored a tap his last time out, forcing Leonardo Mafra Texeira to quit a few weeks back in New Jersey.

In addition to "Nelson vs. Story," UFC Fight Night 53 will also feature a welterweight bout between Nico Musoke and the returning Amir Sadollah, while Niklas Backstrom and Mike Wilkinson hook 'em up in featherweight action. In addition, Dennis Siver returns from suspension to battle 145-pound stalwart Robert Whiteford.
