A women’s fight is in the works for the upcoming Strikeforce Challengers show on Sept 23 with Germaine De Randamie expected to face Julie Kedzie.
The fight was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com by sources close to the bout on Friday, with bout agreements issued for the 135lb contest.
A Muay Thai wrecking machine, Germaine De Randamie made her transition to MMA over the last few years, but hasn’t tasted the same level of success just yet.
After a first round knockout in her debut fight for Strikeforce, De Randamie came up short in her next fight against Julia Budd, losing by unanimous decision.
Now she will look to get back on track facing one of Greg Jackson’s students in Las Vegas at Strikeforce Challengers.
Julie Kedzie will also be returning with the goal of bouncing back from a loss. Kedzie fought to a decision with Alexis Davis at Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson, and the Team Jackson fighter definitely wants to avoid two losses in a row.
The bout between Kedzie and De Randamie will take place at the Sept 23 Strikeforce Challengers event with more fights expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
