Due to an undisclosed injury to Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Andre Galvao, Cesar Gracie product David Marshall has been pegged to face welterweight prospect Jorge Lopez at Tachi Palace Fights 10 “Let the Chips Fall,” Sherdog.com learned Friday evening.

Marshall (8-2) last saw action in a decision loss to James Terry at Strikeforce “Diaz vs. Noons 2.” Prior to the defeat, the 26-year-old Sacramento, Calif., native had won his previous six contests.

“Marshall is a Strikeforce vet and someone who has been on our radar for a long time,” said Tachi Palace Entertainment Coordinator Jeremy Luchau. “Our matchmaker Richard Goodman always does a great job finding solid replacements in situations like this.”

Marshall’s opponent, Wand Fight Team’s Lopez (10-1), has won his last nine bouts and holds notable victories over Waachiim Spiritwolf and Chidi Njokuani.

TPF 10 goes down Aug. 5 at the Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino in Lemoore, Calif., and will stream free on Sherdog.com. Administrative Editor Jordan Breen and Sherdog Radio Network personality TJ De Santis will call the action live from cageside.
