After holding two successful events in Phuket already this year, Full Metal Dojo is heading to Bangkok for the first time on Nov. 2 for a card that will feature a catchweight contest between Afghanistan’s Baz Mohammad Mubariz and American Dylan Fussell.
Thailand is home to some of the top training camps in the region like Tiger Muay Thai and Phuket Top Team, as well as branches of AKA and Team Quest, and has long been seen as an exciting market for MMA promotions.
UFC president Dana White has gone on record as saying he wants to hold a UFC event in Thailand one day and there have been some small shows in places like Phuket and Koh Samui, but at present Full Metal Dojo is the only established promotion putting on regular cards in the country.
FMD 3: No Sleep ’Til Bangkok sees Jon Nutt’s organization move from the holiday resort of Phuket to the bustling metropolis of Bangkok with an event that will take place at Live House Studios near Chatuchak Park.
The only fight confirmed so far sees two FMD veterans return, as Mubariz (4-2) looks to build on the momentum of his recent win over Kristoffer Persson in Phuket, while Team Quest representative Fussell (2-1) will hope to bounce back after being beaten by Jason Ponet on the same show.
