Friday’s Cage Warriors 61 event has lost its main event just days before the event.
Officials today announced they’ve scrapped a would-be welterweight headliner between Bruno “B.C.” Carvalho (15-7) and Matt Inman (12-5) after Carvalho suffered an injury.
Inman will instead fight replacement Hakon Foss (2-2), a Norwegian making his promotional debut. However, the bout has been bumped from the main-event slot and and is likely to kick off the event’s main card.
Cage Warriors 61, initially planned for Dec. 14 in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, presented logistical issues and now takes place at King Hussein Youth City Boxing Arena in Amman, Jordan. The main card streams on MMAjunkie in North American following prelims on Facebook.
Although officials said the card and fight order will be finalized in the next day, they expect bantamweights James Brum (13-2) and Marat Pekov (10-4) to now headline the card.
