Frank Mir Moving to the Broadcast Booth This Weekend | MMAWeekly.com

Absolute Championship Berkut announced on Monday that two-time UFC Heavyweight Champion of the World Frank Mir is set to join the ACB commentary team and will commentate his first event ‘ACB 48: The Rematch’ this Saturday live from the Dynamo Sports Palace in Moscow.

Mir is the UFC’s longest standing fighter and he shot to fame when he won his first of two UFC Heavyweight titles in 2004 at the age of just 25 years old against Tim Sylvia at UFC 48. Since then Mir has been a force in the division and currently holds the record for most finishes ever by a heavyweight fighter.

Frank MirMir also has a wealth of experience behind the mic for commentary and in the MMA media. His color commentary shone when he was the voice of the WEC and he has also found success in the form of his own podcast ‘Phone Booth Fighting.’

Bringing a name like this on board is another signal of the intentions ACB have for their product as they look to further break into the western market. With Frank’s profile and experience in and outside the cage this looks set to be a very exciting addition and to the commentary team and we look forward to him sharing that knowledge and experience as he calls the fights cage-side for ACB fans around the world starting with ACB 48 on Saturday.

Saturday’s fight card features two titles fights on it as well as some of the promotion’s biggest names and personalities.
Headlining the event is the long anticipated rematch between Ali “Hulk” Bagov and current lightweight champion Abdul-Aziz “Lion” Abdulvakhabov with a co-main event between the Brazilian Jose Maria “No Chance” Tome and Russian stand-out Askar Askarov who are set to do battle for the vacant flyweight title.
