Francisco France-Hans Stringer, Chad Robichaux-Andrew Yates set for WSOF 6

chad-robichaux-1.jpgWith its main card set, World Series of Fighting’s event next month in Florida now has its first two preliminary card fights.

Light heavyweight Francisco France (8-3) will meet Hans Stringer (21-5-2), while bantamweights Chad Robichaux (10-2) and unbeaten Andrew Yates (7-0) are set to square off. Promotion officials announced the new bouts for WSOF 6 today.

WSOF 6 takes place Oct. 26 at BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, Fla. The main card airs on NBC Sports Network following prelims that will stream at MMAjunkie.com. The card is headlined by an inaugural welterweight title fight between Josh Burkman and Steve Carl.

France will return for the first time in more than a year, and he’ll be looking for his first winning streak since 2010. In September 2012, he picked up a submission win for Shamrock Promotions. His resume includes a win for Strikeforce, as well as a win over UFC veteran James McSweeney.

Stringer debuts for WSOF on the strength of a four-fight winning streak, and will fight for the first time in 2013. The Dutch fighter, who trains with the Blackzilians in South Florida, has 17 stoppages in his 21 wins.

Robichaux, a Strikeforce and Bellator veteran, will fight for the first time since May 2012, when he submitted Joseph Sandoval at Legacy FC 11 to snap a two-fight skid.

Yates makes his WSOF debut with seven straight wins to open up his pro career. Included in that run are five stoppages, with four by submission. In January, he won by submission in a fight in his home state of Colorado.

With the additions, the World Series of Fighting 6 lineup now includes:
