Shawne Merriman, a former NFL player who last played a game in 2012, says he has talked to Bellator chief Scott Coker about a possible MMA fight.

Merriman said he’d do “a lot better that CM Punk.” That remains to be seen. Merriman will presumably have to fight another man in the cage and without football pads, so his experience there will be lacking.

TMZ asked Merriman about a possible fight recently and the 32-year-old’s eyes seemed to light up.

Who could he fight? Herschel Walker? Bob Sapp. Ryback? Ken Shamrock? Tito Ortiz? Let the freak show fight talk begin.
