Renzo GracieIf you’re familiar with the Gracie family, you know they’re better known for their jiu-jitsu than their striking.

On Nov. 22 back in 1996, Renzo picked up the only knockout win of his career with an up-kick to Oleg Taktarov. Watch the video below to relive the moment that took place exactly 17 years ago to the date.

Renzo thinks that five minute rounds in the UFC hurts the grappling in MMA. Member of the family that idealized the UFC, Renzo Gracie isn't satisfied with the current rules of the organization. The Jiu-Jitsu master thinks that grappling exchanges can't develop in a fight because of the time limit and 10 minute round - like in Pride - would be more appropriate, according to his interview to MSN. The MMA of today isn't set for Jiu-Jitsu fighters, I have no doubt of it. What a ground fighter can do more

Read a heart warming story told by MMA legend in Renzo Gracie in a series of tweets as he was at the airport. The randomness of social media is fascinating. When I usually write these 'Tweet of the Day' posts from various members of the MMA community, usually it's either about hilarious moments, online arguments, or fighters calling each other out. Renzo Gracie has been featured here in the past, most notably when he was live tweeting as he handled two muggers in New York. This edition is a bit more

But will the talented wrestler be able to hang with one of the best submission specialists in the world in a straight up jiu-jitsu match? LOS ANGELES - When asked about his opportunity to make history Saturday night, Lyoto Machida's reply, is, well, Machida-like. If "The Dragon" defeats Chris Weidman and wins the UFC middleweight title in the main event of UFC 175 in Las Vegas, the former light heavyweight champion will become just the third fighter in the promotion's history to win belts in two different weight classes. Check out who the Bloody Elbow staff is picking for each and every UFC Fight Night: San Antonio bout on Saturday night. Cub Swanson vs. Jeremy Stephens Mookie Alexander: I really don't buy Jeremy Stephens as an elite featherweight. He's confirmed as a top 10-15 guy, but Swanson's improvements over the past few years far exceed any improvements Stephens has shown. Cub is the better striker, grappler, and as much as Stephens' power gets lauded, Cub has shown fantastic finishing skills in the UFC. more

Check out who the Bloody Elbow staff is picking for each and every UFC Fight Night: New Zealand bout in the middle of the night. UFN: New Zealand Nate Marquardt vs. James Te Huna Mookie Alexander: This is the worst planned main event in recent UFC history. Doesn't make it a bad fight, though. I'm of the opinion that Marquardt has declined and that the drop to 170 isn't the direct cause of it. Fighters get old, and as a TRT user he should know that. Te Huna hits hard, has lethal uppercuts, and sh more

Strap in for another wild weekend of fights as UFC airs two live combat sports events in one day. Just make sure you brew plenty of coffee if you plan on going the distance...
