Final One FC 9 Bouts Announced, Including Tim Sylvia vs. Tony Johnson

Tim Sylvia vs Tra Telligman at UFC 54One Fighting Championship on Wednesday announced the three final bouts for One FC: Rise to Power, which takes place on May 31 at the MOA Arena in Manila, Philippines.

Among the announced bouts is former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia vs. Tony Johnson, Lowen Tynanes vs. Felipe Enomoto, and Ryan Diaz vs. Yusup Saadulaev.

Sylvia has fought once before for One FC, having his fight with fellow former UFC champion Andrei Arlovski declared a no-contest when Arlovski was charged with landing an illegal soccer kick.

Amassing a 7-4 record since leaving the UFC in 2008, Sylvia is coming off of a loss to Olympic Gold Medal Judoka Satoshi Ishii on New Year’s Eve. He’ll try to right the ship by welcoming Tony Johnson back to the cage.

Johnson (6-1) was at one time one of the hottest rising heavyweight prospects in the world. He went 4-0 to start his career, including defeating Tony Lopez for the King of the Cage heavyweight championship. His only loss is to current UFC heavyweight contender Daniel Cormier.

Johnson won back-to-back bouts following the loss to Cormier, but hasn’t competed since a win over Derrick Lewis at Bellator 46 in June of 2011.

As a young MMA fighter, Lowen Tynanes has already made a big impression by winning fights against top opponents in the Philippines, Japan and Malaysia. The high school wrestling champion silenced the home-crowd in Manila by incapacitating crowd-favorite Eduard Folayang with a vicious elbow, which caused the doctor to instantly stop the fight. In his last outing at ONE FC, Tynanes also defeated Hong Kong-based South African fighter Vuyisile Colossa via rear naked choke.

Each time Felipe Enomoto has entered the One FC cage, he has been the underdog. This time is no different. Having established a reputation as being one of the toughest and most durable fighters in Asia who always leaves it all in the cage, Enomoto will undoubtedly be looking to silence the crowd with a decisive victory in the early rounds.

Ryan Diaz has been training in MMA for over 10 years and already has 13 professional wins to his name. Over a long career, Diaz continues to round out his game with strong skills in BJJ, Muay Thai and boxing. He possesses incredible power and strength. Diaz is much more experienced than his opponent, and will be looking to use his strength to overpower the Russian fighter.

After two outings in the One FC cage, Russian wrestler Saadulaev is still searching for his first promotional victory and will enter the cage for the third time with the determination to prevent a Diaz win at all costs.
