DUBLIN – A concussion forced Joseph Duffy out of Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 76 headliner. How did his fellow fighters react? It depends on which ones you ask.
The reactions ranged from understanding to disappointment to mockery.
The news came down on Wednesday: Duffy (14-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) wasn’t cleared for the lightweight fight, and Dustin Poirier (18-4 MMA, 10-3 UFC) was left without an opponent for the UFC Fight Pass-streamed card, which takes place at Dublin’s 3Arena.
It was another major hit for a lineup that already lost a key heavyweight co-headliner, so fellow fighters on the now-crippled card had some strong opinions about the latest loss.
