‘Fedor vs. Werdum’ Payouts: Werdum Earns $100,000

Fabricio Werdum earned a reported $100,000 for his upset win over Fedor Emelianenko on Saturday, according to figures the California State Athletic Commission released to Sherdog.com.

In defeat, Emelianenko earned a reported $400,000 to top the Strikeforce/M-1 Global card at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif. The payouts are disclosed pay only and do not include other income fighters may earn.

The CSAC also reported an attendance for the event of 11,757 for a gross gate of $1,066,739.

Five fighters received medical suspensions. Jan Finney, who was gutsy in a punishing loss to Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos, was suspended for 180 days or until a physician clears her due to an orbital fracture. She was also suspended for 60 days without contact due to left and right facial lacerations and 45 days (30 without contact) for her KO loss.

Scott Smith, who was defeated by Cung Le, was suspended 60 days without contact or until a physician clears him due to a left facial laceration and also 45 days (30 without contact) following his knockout loss.

Josh Thomson was suspended 180 days without contact or until a physician clears him due to a rib fracture he suffered en route to submitting Pat Healy.

Gareth Joseph was suspended 45 days (30 without contact) following his loss to Yancey Medeiros, and Ron Keslar was also suspended 45 days (30 without contact) after his loss to Chris Cope.
