Fans are Suing Manny Pacquiao Over His Fight with Floyd Mayweather

Fans are Suing Manny Pacquiao Over His Fight with Floyd Mayweather

Looks like some folks are trying to get their hands on Manny Pacquiao’s cash from last Saturday.

A couple fans from Las Vegas were pissed off enough to file a class-action lawsuit against Manny, his manager and his promoters for not disclosing his reported shoulder injury ahead of last weekend’s fight with Floyd Mayweather.

The unnamed fans are seeking $5 million (!) in a suit that alleges Pacquiao and his crew failed to disclose the injury by law, which somehow caused damages to those who bought tickets to the fight, ordered it on pay-per-view and/or put money down as bets.

ESPN’s Darren Rovell broke the news earlier today.

This fight basically made all the money you can imagine, with pay-per-view revenue expected to be in the ballpark of $300 million (dayum!). Not to mention Manny and “Money” Mayweather shared a purse upwards of $200 million (double dayum!).

ESPN also got in contact with the Top Rank’s lawyer on the case and they said lawyer stuff that essentially meant the plaintiffs are out of their domes if they think they’re going to win this.

“The allegations in this lawsuit are demonstrably false,” attorney Daniel Petrocelli told ESPN. “There are documents that explicitly show the medications that Manny was using to treat his shoulder and it was fully disclosed with USADA, which we contracted for this fight”

So what you’re telling me is one can jump on this class-action suit and grab a piece of that $5 million? Sounds yummy, but we’re good; we’ll stick with keeping this moderately entertaining blog and updating readers on the legal process while also posting Paige VanZant videos to no end. It’s kinda what we do.

Speaking of videos, have you guys seen Floyd Mayweather’s Punch-Out? A must-watch. To the footage!
