This Saturday’s UFC 189 event provides Conor McGregor the opportunity to quiet a lot of doubters when he takes on Chad Mendes for the interim UFC featherweight championship.
McGregor (17-2 MMA, 5-0 UFC) has mixed dominant performances with over-the-top trash talk to become one of the UFC’s biggest stars. But many fans feel that a wrestler like Mendes (17-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC) possesses all the tools necessary to grind the Irishman’s hype train to a halt.
Veteran MMA analyst “Showdown Joe” Ferraro headed to Twitter to ask fans what they think will happen when McGregor faces the biggest test of his career. He got some interesting responses, and gives his take, as well.
UFC 189 takes place Saturday at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The main card will air on pay-per-view following preliminary bouts on Fox Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
