Fabio MaldonadoFabio Maldonado heads into one of the toughest fights of his professional career at UFC 153. He’ll be facing Glover Teixeira. But Maldonado won’t be alone.

He’ll have an eagle on his shoulder in the form of the memory of his father, whom Maldonado holds very close to his heart. In fact, he has a tattoo on his back that says “My Father – My Hero.”

The eight anniversary of Maldonado’s father’s death is just a week after his fight with Teixeira. That’s a very powerful motivator for any fighter to overcome, but it is something that Teixeira will have to face alongside Maldonado when they set foot in the Octagon.
