Episode No. 9 recap: 'The Ultimate Fighter 19: Team Edgar vs. Team Penn'

The Ultimate Fighter 19: Team Penn vs Team Edgar

Episode No. 9 of “The Ultimate Fighter: Team Edgar vs. Team Penn” opens with Team Edgar’s Matt Van Buren, who fights Team Penn’s Chris Fields later in the episode, discussing how much he dislikes his opponent and his desire to display a dominant performance.

Fields, on the other hand, is determined to deliver a redeeming effort. His entry into the house through the elimination round came as the result of his opponent suffering a mid-fight injury. He feels he hasn’t been taken seriously and is ready to prove his naysayers wrong.

The fighters from both teams head to the Harley-Davidson motorcycle shop in Las Vegas where they customize the bike they would receive should they win the show. “TUF 15? winner Michael Chiesa meets the fighters at the store and provides some motivation as the athletes move deeper into the tournament.

With training complete, Van Buren and Fields hit the 206-pound light-heavyweight mark at the weigh-in, making the final quarterfinal matchup of the season official.
