Dylan Andrew Dislocates Shoulder in UFC Fight Night 27 Victory Over Papy Abedi

20-Dylan Andrews UFC FN27_5738Dylan Andrews suffered a dislocation to his left shoulder, but was able to battle on to knock out Papy Abedi in round three at UFC Fight Night 27 from the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Wednesday night.

Abedi judo tossed Andrews to the mat early in round one and the Australian based fighter never looked comfortable as Abedi controlled the fight.

“I think when he judo tossed me in the first, I landed on my left shoulder and I heard a crack,” Andrews said. “I’m sorry about my performance, after the shoulder went in the first, I just found it hard.”

As Abedi gassed in the final round, Andrews, needing a knockout, launched a one-armed attack to get the finish.

“My uppercut is my money shot. If I can just land it, we can set up a lot of good things up from there.”

Andrews confirmed after the fight that his shoulder had in fact dislocated. He will be in a race against time to be fit for the rumoured show in Australia at the end of the year, while Abedi’s third loss in four UFC fights could spell an end to his UFC tenure.
