Third time’s a charm? The UFC, Doo Ho Choi and Sam Sicilia are hoping so as a bout between the two featherweights has been booked for a third time.
The two are now scheduled to meet at UFC Fight Night 79. The event takes place Nov. 28 at Olympic Gymnastics Arena in the South Korea capital of Seoul. Broadcast plans haven’t been announced for UFC Fight Night 81, but the show is likely to stream on UFC Fight Pass in North America.
Choi (12-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and Sicilia (15-5 MMA, 5-4 UFC) were originally booked to meet at UFC 173 in May 2014. They were then scheduled to clash at UFC Fight Night 71 this July. Choi was forced to withdraw from both previously planned meetings.
Choi is currently riding a 10-fight winning streak. The South Korean native made his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night 57, scoring an 18 second knockout of Juan Puig. Only three of his 13 career fights have made it to the judges’ scorecards.
Sicilia is a UFC veteran who is currently riding a two-fight winning streak. He knocked out Akira Corassani at UFC on FOX 14 and followed that up with a unanimous decision over Yaotzin Meza at UFC Fight Night 71.
