Say what you will about his politics, GOP candidate Donald Trump certainly knows how to take advantage of a hot, trending topic.
Case in point: Ronda Rousey‘s knockout loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193 over the weekend.
Rousey being knocked from her perch shocked many and pleased others. Count Trump among those who were pleased. He even took a minute out of his day to take a shot at the already down Rousey by blasting her on Twitter.
Glad to see that @RondaRousey lost her championship fight last night. Was soundly beaten – not a nice person!

It’s not Trump’s first attempt to jump on the #RondaRousey bandwagon. A few months ago, in an interview with CNN, Trump tried to gain support by tying himself to Rousey when he was asked about women in the military, saying, “Ronda Rousey is an example –who likes me – hey, I’d take her on my side as a fighter.”
The only thing is, it appears that Trump’s fact checkers forgot to check Rousey’s opinion of him with her first.

In a later interview with CNN, Rousey responded by saying, “I mean, I wouldn’t vote for him. I just wouldn’t trust the guy with running my country, that’s all. I don’t want a reality TV star running my country.”
Rousey later threw her support behind Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders.
