Donald Cerrone gets the decision at UFC 131
UFC officials made the announcement about the bout on Monday.
Taylor was originally scheduled to face Canadian John Makdessi on the Milwaukee fight card, but an injury forced him out, so in walks Cerrone.
This will be Cerrone’s third appearance in the UFC since moving over from the WEC.
The former title contender has gone 2-0 with two impressive wins over Paul Kelly and, most recently, Vagner Rocha. The Team Jackson fighter had been lobbying to get on his hometown card for UFC 135 in Denver, but he will instead fight in August.
Cerrone faces Taylor in what could be a tremendous match-up between two of the most exciting strikers in the lightweight division.
There’s been no word if the fight between Cerrone and Taylor will make the televised broadcast or not.
