'Dirty Bird' Means Welcomes Abel Trujillo to Octagon Sept. 1 at UFC 151

Another contest has been added to the UFC 151 fight bill, promotion officials announced Wednesday, as Tim Means will square off with Octagon newcomer Abel Trujillo at the Sept. 1 event.

UFC 151 takes place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and is headlined by a light heavyweight title collision between reigning champion Jon Jones and former Strikeforce king Dan Henderson. The evening's main draw airs live on pay-per-view and also features a welterweight showdown between contenders Josh Koscheck and Jake Ellenberger.

Means, 28, performed impressively in his last outing, stopping Justin Salas with strikes in just 66 seconds at UFC on FX 3. The June 8 victory marked the ninth consecutive win for “The Dirty Bird,” who is now 2-0 in his Octagon career. Standing 6-feet-2, Means owns 13 of his 18 career victories by way of knockout and has gone to a judges' decision just twice in his eight years as a pro.

Also 28, Trujillo joins the UFC riding a four-fight winning streak. Fighting out of Des Moines, Iowa, Trujillo last competed on June 30, taking a unanimous decision from former Bellator talent Frank Carrillo. The lightweight has already competed three times in 2012, topping Ken Jackson in January and James Edson Berto in April before outpointing Carrillo.
